About Meiko: Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Meiko (pronounced MEE-ko) is part of the stable of critically acclaimed Hotel Cafe artists. Signed in 2008 to MySpace/David Geffen Company Records, Georgia native Meiko, who is one-quarter Japanese, is a veritable success story in the world of independent music. After a brief stint in Miami, Meiko moved to Los Angeles, where she joined her sister, fashion designer Kelly Nishimoto. Once in Los Angeles, Meiko found herself waiting tables at the famed Hotel Cafe, the launching pad of musicians like Katy Perry, while honing her craft. Meiko parlayed her waiting gig at Hotel into a full-fledged artist residency and was subsequently courted by major record labels, ultimately signing with MySpace Records. Prior to label representation, Meiko's self-released, self-titled debut album rapidly ascended the charts on both iTunes and Billboard, while her songs ratcheted millions of plays on her MySpace page. Meiko’s album reached no. 1 on iTunes’ Singer-Songwriter Album chart. Her single “Boys With Girlfriends” topped iTunes’ Singer-Songwriter Songs chart. On November 21, 2008, the Meiko LP became the no. 1 best-selling album on Amazon.com. Her following quickly grew after prominent song placements on such hit TV shows as "Grey's Anatomy," "One Tree Hill," and "90210," as well as live musical performances on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” (on September 11, 2008) and “Last Call with Carson Daly” (on December 11, 2008). She also co-wrote and sang "Falling Hard" from "Divided by Night," The Crystal Method's latest album, and was one of thirteen artists, along with Maroon 5, The Kills, and The Kooks, selected to do exclusive covers of legendary crooner Frank Sinatra’s greatest hits, as part of the iTunes “Sinatra, His Way, Our Way” tribute album, which was released on July 8, 2009. Meiko covers Sinatra’s “All of Me,” which soared to no. 2 on the iTunes jazz list in its first week. Meiko’s singles include "Boys with Girlfriends," "Reasons to Love You," "How Lucky We Are," and "Under My Bed." Key endorsements from influential celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, Paste Magazine, and LA's highly respected tastemaker, KCRW, soon followed, with Meiko embarking on multiple national tours. This July 2009, Meiko headed to the United Kingdom for her first international concert performances, following her first headlining summer tour across the United States. Meiko Live in Guam marks Meiko's first foray in the Asia-Pacific region. Official website: http://www.myspace.com/meiko.
